PROJECT SUMMARY

The main objective of this project is to provide an advanced technological response to the management of complex textile waste, going beyond traditional approaches in order to recover high-value material resources and promote the circular economy. To this end, the initiative integrates smart optical sorting based on NIR spectroscopy and different valorisation pathways — mechanical, chemical and enzymatic — with the aim of applying the most efficient treatment to each type of waste and obtaining new, high-quality raw materials. Finally, this technological development is complemented by both a social and educational dimension, through the analysis of the impact of textile waste and the promotion of awareness-raising actions from a One Health perspective, focused on the integrated protection of the environment and health.
